Albin was born in Danzig (now Gdansk in Poland) in 1919 died in the Summer of 2012, Trowski attended both German and Polish Schools from which he was awarded scholarship to study at the Institute of Fine Arts, Poznan, where he stayed until the outbreak of the war in 1939. Though an accomplished oil painter, Albin found his true metier as a watercolourist. His artistic style reflected his innate love of life, and his work was often infused with affectionate humour and, occasionally, irony. His output was prolific and diverse, and his paintings can be found in private collections and galleries all over the world. Albin illustrated Alan Garner's poem The Breadhorse and regularly provided illustrations for magazines including Yorkshire Life.
