Mike Weeden
Biography
Michael Weeden was born in Grimsby in 1957. From the age of 10, he developed a passion for painting and drawing, and began to teach himself, as well as receiving instruction in the Art lessons at Heckmondwike Grammar School. Despite his talent for art being recognised, and his being encouraged to enrol at Art School, Mike chose to pursue a technical career in the Royal Navy. With Military service behind him and becoming an electrician, he found more inclination to paint, he began to exhibit at various venues, particularly at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. In 2007, he decided to wind down his business and, with his wife Jane, he relocated to Scotland. Here he found new inspiration.

Eight works were sold to a Corporate Collection in Birmingham, and five works have been bought by the Beauchamp Collection at Portsmouth University. Since 2008, he has exhibited in Scotland, with many works being sold, and in 2011 he became a Member of the Scottish Society of Artists.
